@atul I’m sure I’ll be writing erlang at some point, but node.js is becoming more important and my Python view server isn’t going away any time soon

We’re really lucky to have you for our first hire. I’m pumped that we’ll have someone who can lay out the infrastructure we’ll need to push CouchDB’s reliability and transparency to the next level.

And I’m even happier that it’s you. You’re an open-source native, and the sort of person with the discipline to tackle the hard problems even when they aren’t glamorous. Also, you’ve got the Relaxed attitude, which is crucial as we’re hiring the initial group of leaders. Your experience with how supportive Mozilla is to its employees will play a big role in setting the tone for Relaxed.

And Python? What about Erlang?? I finally got around to reading some of Joe Armstrong’s book and there’s some stuff in there that I really wish Python had…
