I've been using WebFaction for about three years, and don't have any complaints to speak of. They give you a decent level of control but take care of the tedious stuff. They're very up front about server issues, which I really appreciate. Oh, and if I'm not mistaken, they're Pythonistas. I think their control panel is a CherryPy app. It's nice to know that the people running your hosts can relate to what you're doing (and I don't mean just the Python aspect, but also that they're working Web developers).
